Santa Clara Fire Relief

As Gabriela and I returned from dinner, one evening during the worst of the Las Conchas wildfire we happened to have shot some video and some stills of Santa Clara Canyon ablaze.

I was a horrific sight from nearly 20 miles distant and one could only imagine, in awe ..at the destruction being wreaked in that blaze, in that part of the Santa Clara Pueblo!

Please join Gabriela and my-own-self ..on August 22nd, for the relief Golf Tournament and Blind Auction being held as an effort to begin the exhaustive repair!

It has been awhile. I hope all is well and you are having a great summer despite all the fires that happened early on. I have attached the registration forms for sponsorship and for participation in the Santa Clara Pueblo Fire Relief Golf Tournament. We are in need of support via sponsorship and participation. The Santa Clara Pueblo needs and appreciates your help as it deals with the imminent danger of flooding and destruction of its aboriginal homelands by the Las Conchas Fire. The area most heavily affected by the fire was the Santa Clara Canyon. Because of the Las Conchas Fire the Pueblo will be forced to rehabilitate, stabilize and repair the damages. This tremendous effort will take several generations to re-store the Canyon to what it once was.

Black Mesa Golf Club, in collaboration with the Santa Claran Hotel Casino and the Santa Clara Development Corporation is hosting the Santa Clara Pueblo Fire Relief Golf Tournament aimed at raising funds to aid the Santa Clara Pueblo in this serious time of need. All net proceeds from the tournament will go to the Santa Clara Pueblo Fire Relief Fund.
